Tivitti is a traditional Sicilian card game
Tivitti is a very popular card game in Sicily and Calabria through a deck of 40 divided into 4 suits (cups, coins, sticks, swords) of 10 cards each and played by 2 or more people.
The cards are divided to each player based on their number, and they must be placed on the table, face down.
Each player in their respective turn can turn over one card at a time: if this is a 1, it is placed in the center of the table so as to start a "pile" (reaching the king, or 10) of each suit and another card can be turned over; if this card cannot be placed on the "pile" but is still one unit higher or lower than the opponent's card placed on the table, it can be placed on this card, so as to increase the number of the opponent's cards by one unit, forming a "pile" also on the opponent's deck, and the cards continue to be turned over; if, however, our card cannot be placed either on the "pile" of suits or on that of the opponent's deck, it is placed face up on our deck and the hand passes to the opponent.
The aim of the game is to exhaust your deck of cards. If you have a card to place on the "pile" or on the opponent's deck and you don't do it (forgetfulness or by choice), the opponent points it out by saying Tivitti : at that point you have to go "back". The player who finishes his deck first or who remains "wrapped" with the last card wins.
